Kibo Mining plc (“Kibo” or the “Company”) (AIM: KIBO; JSE: KBO), the mineral exploration and\u00a0 development\u00a0 company\u00a0 focused\u00a0 on coal, gold,\u00a0 nickel,\u00a0 and\u00a0 uranium\u00a0 projects\u00a0 in\u00a0 Tanzania, announces that its largest shareholder, Mzuri Capital Group Ltd (\u201cMCG\u201d) has advised that it has distributed its entire shareholding in the Company on an in specie basis to its 26 shareholders. As a result, MCG\u2019s holding in the issued ordinary share capital of the Company has decreased from approximately 11.5% to 0%.<\/p>\n

Entities\u00a0 controlled\u00a0 by\u00a0 two\u00a0 of\u00a0 Kibo\u2019s\u00a0 directors,\u00a0 Louis\u00a0 Coetzee\u00a0 and\u00a0 Tinus\u00a0 Maree,\u00a0 have shareholdings\u00a0 in\u00a0 MCG\u00a0 of\u00a0 7.8%\u00a0 and\u00a0 9.2%\u00a0 respectively,\u00a0 and\u00a0 as\u00a0 result\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 distribution\u00a0 their beneficial shareholdings in the Company have increased as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Kibo\u00a0 was\u00a0 established\u00a0 in\u00a0 early\u00a0 2008\u00a0 to\u00a0 explore\u00a0 and\u00a0 develop\u00a0 mineral\u00a0 deposits\u00a0 in\u00a0 Tanzania.\u00a0 The company was admitted to AIM in London on 27 April 2010 and the JSE in Johannesburg on 30 May\u00a0 2011.\u00a0 The\u00a0 Company\u00a0 is\u00a0 developing\u00a0 the\u00a0 Rukwa mouth-of-mine\u00a0 thermal\u00a0 power\u00a0 station\u00a0 and controls one of Tanzania\u2019s largest mineral right portfolios, including the Haneti (nickel, PGE and gold), Morogoro, Lake Victoria (Gold), and Pinewood (Coal & Uranium) projects.<\/p>\n

Its\u00a0 projects\u00a0 are\u00a0 located\u00a0 both\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 established\u00a0 and\u00a0 gold\u00a0 prolific\u00a0 Lake\u00a0 Victoria\u00a0 Goldfields,\u00a0 the emerging\u00a0 goldfields\u00a0 of\u00a0 eastern\u00a0 Tanzania\u00a0 and the\u00a0 Mtwara\u00a0 Corridor\u00a0 in\u00a0 southern\u00a0 Tanzania\u00a0 where the Government\u00a0 has\u00a0 prioritised\u00a0 infrastructural\u00a0 development\u00a0 attracting\u00a0 significant\u00a0 recent investment in coal and uranium.<\/p>\n

Kibo’s\u00a0 objective\u00a0 is\u00a0 to\u00a0 build\u00a0 shareholder\u00a0 value\u00a0 sustainably.\u00a0 This\u00a0 will\u00a0 be\u00a0 achieved\u00a0 primarily through exploration of its own projects and leveraging the Company’s experience in Tanzania to acquire exploration and development assets on competitive terms. The focus is on assets that can be moved swiftly up the value curve whilst benefitting from strategic relationships with industry leaders with special skills and competencies within their chosen fields.<\/p>\n
