{"id":4407,"date":"2014-02-24T21:32:10","date_gmt":"2014-02-24T21:32:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kibo.energy\/?p=4407"},"modified":"2014-06-19T06:18:49","modified_gmt":"2014-06-19T06:18:49","slug":"technical-report-on-the-imweru-gold-project-confirms-resource-upside-potential","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kibo.energy\/index.php\/technical-report-on-the-imweru-gold-project-confirms-resource-upside-potential\/","title":{"rendered":"Technical Report on the Imweru Gold Project Confirms Resource Upside Potential"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>Highlights<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Independent JORC-compliant resource report on the Imweru Gold Project received<\/li>\n<li>Report includes a revised JORC-compliant resource estimate reflecting recent drilling results and updated economic and geologic factors<\/li>\n<li>Significantly improved confidence in the geological model and the resource base<\/li>\n<li>Confirmation of potential expansion of resource base through further drill programmes<\/li>\n<li>High priority drill targets identified on regional ground holding<\/li>\n<li>Recommended two phase work program incorporating further resource definition drilling, testing of the priority regional targets and preliminary scoping study work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more-->Kibo Mining plc (\u201cKibo\u201d or the \u201cCompany\u201d) , the mineral exploration and development company focused on\u00a0 gold,\u00a0 nickel,\u00a0 coal\u00a0 and\u00a0 uranium\u00a0 projects\u00a0 in\u00a0 Tanzania, has received an\u00a0 independent JORC-compliant resource\u00a0 report (\u201cthe\u00a0 Report\u201d) for\u00a0 its\u00a0 Imweru\u00a0 project,\u00a0 located\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 prolific Lake\u00a0 Victoria Goldfields\u00a0 of\u00a0 northern\u00a0 Tanzania.\u00a0 The\u00a0 Report\u00a0 incorporates the\u00a0 results\u00a0 from the\u00a0 Company\u2019s\u00a0 recently announced Phase 1 drilling results at Imweru (refer to previous RNS dated 14 January 2014). The Report was prepared by Canadian consultancy group Tetra Tech EBA on behalf of the Company, and contains the following key data:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>39% increase in total estimated combined\u00a0 Indicated and Inferred gold resource ounces to 426,000 oz (12.3\u00a0 million tonnes\u00a0 at 1.08 g\/t, 0.4\u00a0 g\/t\u00a0 cut-off) over\u00a0 the\u00a0 previous\u00a0 estimate\u00a0 for\u00a0 the\u00a0 Imweru\u00a0 Central Mineralised Zone (\u201cICMZ\u201d) where the recent drilling was carried out<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>24% of the 426,000 oz newly estimated total gold resource at IMCZ\u00a0 is now categorised in the\u00a0 higher confidence Indicated category, with the remaining 323,000 oz. (9.6 million tonnes at 1.05 g\/t, 0.4 g\/t cut-off) in the Inferred category<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Total estimated\u00a0 Indicated\u00a0 and\u00a0 Inferred gold\u00a0 resource at\u00a0 Imweru now\u00a0 stands\u00a0 at 550,000\u00a0 oz.\u00a0 ( 15.0 million tonnes at 1.14 g\/t, 0.4 g\/t cut-off)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Improved understanding of the shear hosted gold mineralisation at Imweru. Phase 1 drilling highlights significant potential to increase the quantity and quality of the resource<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Additional high priority gold drill targets identified from review of the Company\u2019s extended ground holding in the Geita region<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Louis Coetzee, C.E.O. of Kibo Mining, commented:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are delighted to announce receipt of this report which confirms our previous statement that the drill results from Imweru exceeded our expectations. We are confident moving into the next phase of the project and its near term commercialization. The independent recognition of high quality drill targets within the Kibo ground holdings in the Geita region bodes well for our strategy to\u00a0 build\u00a0 a\u00a0 significant\u00a0 mineable\u00a0 gold\u00a0 resource\u00a0 inventory\u00a0 in\u00a0 this\u00a0 region,\u00a0 close\u00a0 to\u00a0 existing\u00a0 gold\u00a0 mining infrastructure.
